What is Cytech?
Cytech stands for the cycle technician's accredited scheme, a comprehensive series of qualifications in cycle maintenance set up by the association of cycle traders to raise standards and improve workshop practice within the industry. It is the only industry wide recognised certificate of mechanical competence.
Why is it important?
Whilst having Cytech-accredited mechanics is not an absolute guarantor of the professionalism of a particular workshop, it is a reliable indicator. Training our staff up to Cytech accredited status is an important part of our philosophy. It means we take mechanical training seriously and we are proud of our mechanics achievements in this field. All of the workshop staff at Roy Pink Cycles are put through Cyctech accreditation as a matter of course. It underwrites our own confidence in the work that we do and is just one reason why we guarantee all our workshop services.
Cycle servicing information:
All our repair and service work is completed on a book-in system. We can advise you on how fast we can complete your work. Minor work, i.e. tube replacement, we like to offer `same-day` when we can. Estimates on repairs are given free of charge. We do not proceed on work until you have given your authority. Proper maintenance is vital, not only for safety but for the easier running and performance of your bicycle. An annual service is an essential, but sometimes a mini-service half yearly is a good idea.
Same day service when you book in advance. If you pre-book your cycle in for repair we guarantee we will turn it around the same day [subject to availability of parts].
First free service
Whenever we supply a new bicycle we thoroughly recommend that you return the bicycle three to four weeks after purchase so we can complete a free check over. It is normal that gears and braking systems `bed-in` and they become less responsive. Around 30 minutes will be required and we try to complete this service while you wait.
Pro bike builds
So you'd like to build a cycle from scratch, we have a great knowledge of frames and groupsets. We can talk you through the range and match the right components for your style of riding.
Bike building
Buying a bicycle mail order or boxed can be a nightmare, the dangers can be quite apparent. We do offer a bike building service at £39.00 including a free 1 month service for your boxed bicycle and we give advice if required.
Quality Wheel Building
Every good cycle mechanic prides him/herself on the quality of their wheel building. Like all our work, our wheel building is fully guaranteed. We work with DT stainless steel spokes as standard. We can build about anything to suit, although if you select one of our more popular packages we probably have them ready to go. These standard packages are very competitively priced, as they don't include any labour costs. Like all our work, our wheel building is fully guaranteed. Almost all wheel builds are completed within two days.
